From DopeMannn Jay to Jelrico.

Jelrico is an independent hip-hop and R&B artist, audio engineer and entrepreneur from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His sound blends introspective lyricism with melodic rap and R&B influence.

He started out as DopeMannn Jay, building a YouTube catalog that has passed 200,000 views, and has run his own home studio since 2019. He writes, produces, records, mixes and masters his music himself, and designs his own cover art.

Since his 2022 debut album GHITS, he has released Clueless (2023), Back Outside (2024), Now I'm Getting Cold (2025) and the 2026 EP Genesis 2.0, alongside 10+ singles. He has performed across North Carolina and in Brooklyn and Stockbridge, Georgia.

Jelrico founded JME Records (Jelrico Music & Entertainment) to run his music as a business, backed by a music business education and an MBA.
